Prof. Abass Mohammed Founder & Lead Economist
Prof. Abass Mohammed is a globally respected business economist, entrepreneur, and strategic advisor, bringing together nearly two decades of combined academic and corporate experience across international markets. He holds advanced graduate degrees in Economics and Finance from Brooklyn College, City University of New York, and a prestigious Master of Science in Technology Management from Columbia University, NY. With deep expertise at the intersection of economic theory and real-world business practice, Prof. Mohammed has served in impactful roles—from his early work as a United Nations intern to serving as a county board member for economic development. Over the years, he has advised a wide array of multinational corporations, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations on economic policy, innovation strategy, and market development.
As Founder and Lead Economist of AMKA INSTITUTE, Prof. Mohammed is committed to delivering high-impact consultancy services to the Government of Ghana and the country’s private sector. His advisory work supports strategic policy design, economic modernization, public-private partnerships, and industrial competitiveness.
